Travel Basketball Coaching Requirements
· All coaches in Freehold Travel Basketball must show proof of the following:
· All Coaches must be certified through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) or Rutgers Certification. Both certifications are designed to sensitize volunteer coaches to their responsibilities and hold them accountable to a strict code of conduct. The NYSCA training can be taken online at www.nays.org. For information on Rutgers Certification or to obtain a replacement card go to their website at www.youthsports.rutgers.edu. You must provide Recreation with a copy of either the NYSCA or Rutgers Certification Card.
· Current CPR certification.
· Annual concussion in sports certification which can be completed here;

· In 2006, the Freehold Township Committee unanimously approved an ordinance requiring criminal history background checks on all personnel involved in youth-serving programs. Any person involved with coaching or supervising children in Freehold township, is required to submit to a Federal and State criminal background check.
